About YIVO Institute
Founded in 1925 in Vilna, Poland (Wilno, Poland, now Vilnius, Lithuania), as the Yiddish Scientific Institute, the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research is dedicated to the history and culture of Ashkenazi Jewry and to its influence in the Americas. Headquartered in New York City since 1940, today YIVO is the world's preeminent resource center for East European Jewish Studies; Yiddish language, literature and folklore; and the American Jewish immigrant experience.

About Bard College
Founded in 1860, Bard is a four-year residential college of the liberal arts and sciences. The campus, a fusion of two historic riverfront estates, is located in the Hudson Valley. The College offers the bachelor of arts degree with concentrations in more than 40 academic programs in four divisions.. Accreditation
Bard College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The courses of study leading to the bachelor of arts and bachelor of music degrees at Bard are registered by the New York State Education Department. The programs of study leading to the master of arts, master of fine arts, master of music, master of science in environmental policy, and master of science in climate science and policy degrees, and the master and doctor of philosophy degrees in the history of the decorative arts, design, and culture at Bard are registered by the New York State Education Department, Office of Higher Education.
